Pasadena City Councilman Victor Gordo Secures Powerful Endorsement of Los Angeles County Democratic Party in Bid for Mayor
PASADENA, CA -- In a reflection of his extensive support from grassroots Democrats in his campaign for Mayor of Pasadena, today Pasadena City Councilman Victor Gordo garnered the endorsement of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP).
LACDP Chair Mark Gonzalez, who has known Gordo for over a decade, released the following statement with the announced endorsement:
“The Los Angeles County Democratic Party is thrilled to endorse Victor Gordo for Pasadena Mayor. As a longtime councilmember and attorney for working people, Victor has been a critical champion of the Democratic values and progressive policies so important to our members, as well as an effective leader for the people of Pasadena. From his experience as a restaurant employee, to his work at the Rose Bowl and on the city council, Victor has been a positive force for the city of Pasadena and a passionate advocate for working families, immigrant communities, and creating a fairer economy that works for everyone. Victor has the background, skill-set and bold vision needed to move Pasadena forward and improve the quality of life in every neighborhood, and he is the best candidate to fight for our shared values as Mayor. We look forward to helping get him elected."
Since initially launching his insurgent, grassroots driven and people-powered campaign for Mayor, Gordo has amassed widespread support from hundreds of Pasadena community members, neighborhood leaders as well as from the Pasadena Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 809 and former Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard who is Co-Chairing his campaign, among others. He is also the only candidate in the race to date who has announced surpassing over six-figures in funds raised primarily from local individuals and families in Pasadena for the March primary election.
